During the 2016 election, I worked as a social manager at the New York Daily News where I covered a breathless news cycle, worked with editorial to maximize online engagement, and hit the streets of New York to cover candidates, protests and breaking political news.
I've worked full-time as an engagement editor and consultant for new pubs like RealClearLife and international movements like the March for Science. In my ongoing work for the non-profit Modern States Education Alliance, I use social media to connect students with tools that allow them to earn college credit for free.
Perhaps the most important part of storytelling is reaching an audience. I'm currently taking on additional news organizations, non-profits and individuals looking to find readers, viewers and community through new mediums.
No, there's no secret to going viral.
